I am both a member and a co-vp for fundraising for the JMU organization, MMA. Our organization provides students with resources to help them become more professional in resume writing and interview context. We also provide networking opportunities for students, and take part in community service. Through this organization we do have a lot of events. We keep track of communication through gmail and our website. Gmail includes contact information, a calender and gmail chat. The website provides information about MMA, contact info of exec. members, scheduled events with their time, date and place, and well as past sponsors of MMA.
We have meetings to decide what actions we would like to take part in, and those plans become written into gmail/ and our website. I found out about this organization through a fellow marketing major, and last year's MMA President, Heather Hancock. I like the fact that if I missed a meeting, or heard about the group, the webpage is a nice anchor to keep me informed.
